Modanisa sizing guide and advise

Modanisa has plenty of sizes and styles available to choose from, whether you’re petite, average or a plus size or if your shape is an hourglass, apple, pear or rectangle they have thousands of options for all shapes and sizes.

But no matter how much we love the brand we have to agree that the sizing issue is there and it can be really difficult to know which size you are in the clothes from modanisa.com.

You might be a size 12 in the UK but if you order that from modanisa.com its highly likely that the item won’t fit as they have their own measurements, not only that but on their own website the same size 12 comes in different measurements.

And the problem is if you receive the items and they don’t fit, the customer is responsible for the return shipping cost. So I thought I’ll write this article to help the thousands of customers struggling with the sizing issue.

After the many orders, I have placed in the past 3 months I think I have understood how to order the perfect size for myself and the method might help you too.

How I choose my size on modanisa.com

The first order I placed was for a dress I had seen with a friend which her husband had bought for her from a visit to Turkey, I was in love with that dress and jumped at the chance when I saw it on the website, the dress was on sale and cost me £35, I ordered it in size 16 which was the largest size available but when I received the dress it was more like a size 12 in the waist especially.

I decided not to return the dress as I was planning on losing some baby weight.

And after that experience, I worked out their sizing as each item has individual measurements and each item has a size 36(UK 8) or 38 (UK 10) listed as an example in the description box.

I worked out if the bust is over 92, waist 74 and hips above 96cm for the example size of 38 than for that item the size 16 will fit me( for a modest fit)  if those numbers were lower than I have to go for a larger size.

How to work out your size

First take measurements of your Bust, Waist and Hips in centimetres and write it down.

Then when you want to buy an item go to the details of the product and you will find an example size listed with measurements of dress bust, waist and hips.

Now you need to work out your correct size according to their example.

It looks complicated but once you get the hang of it then it should be a breeze.

The sizing varies quite a bit, for example, for size 38 (UK 10) bust size ranges from 82cm to 98cm for different dresses on Modanisa.com.

General UK Sizing Modanisa Sizing Your Size
UK 10 Size 38 UK 12
Bust – 88 Bust – 82cm to 98cm Keep adding 4-5cm to the given size for each size number (from 38 to 40) until you get your measurements.
Waist – 74 Waist – 74cm to 80cm Apply the above rule
Hips – 94 Hips – 76cm to 108cm Apply the above rule

For example, my measurements are:

Bust – 92cm
Waist – 74cm
Hips – 96cm

To get size 16UK (Modanisa 44), we will add 4-5cm for each size

Bust – 92cm + 15cm (to jump 3 sizes) = 107cm
Waist – 74cm + 15 = 89cm
Hips – 96cm + 15 = 111cm

Hi, hope you’re well
How does the general size chart fit into this (the one underneath every dress). After we find out our Modanisa measurements, how do we use the general size chart to get the right size ?

Hi, thanks for your query. Sorry for the late reply, most of the time Modanisa sizing underneath each dress are accurate, but they do not match with their general sizing. So, you do not need to follow their general sizing it is almost useless instead find your measurements in the particular dress sizing where each size has 4cm difference. You will add or remove 4cm to/from the given example size to get your size.

Let me know if you need any further clarifications.

    Thanks
